BAUCON INT. ZT GMBH DESIGNS HYDROPOWER IN THE HEART OF THE ALPS

For TIWAG – Tiroler Wasserkraft AG, BauCon International ZT GmbH is designing key components of the Tauernbach-Gruben power plant in Matrei in Osttirol. The plant has a capacity of 27 MW and harnesses the Tauernbach stream over a length of around 8.5 km for sustainable energy generation.

COMPREHENSIVE CIVIL ENGINEERING DESIGN FROM A SINGLE PROVIDER

Since the end of 2023, BauCon has been responsible for the detailed design of the penstock, the powerhouse and the water intake. The scope also covers hydraulic, structural and geotechnical design, the preparation of permit documents and the design of a 110 kV underground cable.

PRECISE SOLUTIONS FOR COMPLEX ROUTES

Particular challenges arise from the demanding penstock alignment with several stream crossings, crossings of existing infrastructure and extensive environmental requirements.
