HIGH-BAY WAREHOUSE FRITZ EGGER GGMBH & Co. OG, St. JOHANN IN TIROL
For the wood-based materials specialist EGGER, voestalpine Krems Finaltechnik built a state-of-the-art rack-supported high-bay warehouse at the company's headquarters site in Tyrol. BauCon International ZT GmbH was responsible for the structural design of this demanding industrial project.
As the stored particleboard panels are extremely bulky and heavy, this special heavy-load warehouse placed exceptional demands on the structural design. With a length of 149 metres, a width of 24 metres and a height of almost 36 metres, the self-supporting steel structure has a storage capacity of around 22,400 tonnes (4,480 packages of 5 tonnes each).
In addition to the enormous loads, our structural design also incorporated a special safety and erection concept, as a high-voltage power line runs directly behind the building. Thanks to precise engineering and perfect coordination between all trades, this heavy steel construction project was completed successfully and on schedule.
