Cat Ba Island, the heart of Lan Ha Bay in northern Vietnam, has seen a major improvement in transport infrastructure thanks to the new “Cat Hai – Phu Long” ropeway link.
BCI was responsible for the entire structural design and detailing of this forward-looking project.
Our task was to develop a highly complex structural solution that not only meets the extreme requirements for stability and safety, but also blends seamlessly into the impressive maritime and mountain landscape. Thanks to our precise structural design, a link was created that offers visitors spectacular views of the sea, the iconic limestone mountains and the traditional fishing village.
With this technological masterpiece, we are supporting the region's tourism development: the efficient Doppelmayr/Garaventa ropeway replaces slow ferry connections, improves logistics and, by reducing emissions, makes a key contribution to sustainable tourism on the island. We are proud to have worked as a partner of Sun Group on this exceptional ropeway and to have given an important boost to the local economy.
