THE WORLD’S LONGEST ROPEWAY
BCI was commissioned by Doppelmayr Seilbahnen GmbH Doppelmayr Seilbahnen GmbH to carry out the structural design of the stations and towers.
The ropeway connects the holiday islands of Phu Quoc and Hon Thom in southern Vietnam. With a length of 7,899.9 m, it breaks the world record previously held by the Fansipan Legend 3S (6,132.5 m). The towers and stations stand on natural islands, while the spectacular ride crosses the sea in between, offering breathtaking views of the islands' beaches and forests.
Towers 4 (164 m), 5 (151 m) and 2 (140 m) are currently the second-, third- and fourth-tallest ropeway towers in the world; they were built by Gleitbau Salzburg Gleitbau Salzburg together with Vietnamese contractors. BCI carried out the inspection and acceptance of the main structural elements and construction stages. The ropeway opened in February 2018.
